Well folks, the pretty leaves have turned, and now fallen.. There isn’t much left out there on our trees! So this session was officially my last “fall session” Luckily in Burlington, they still had some leaves!!
But before I show those photos, I just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that this Friday is Remembrance Day.
It’s odd how every year in school we would learn about that day, we would remember it, and have a ceremony. And this may sound bad, but as a child I don’t think I ever really understood the sacrifice. And now as an adult, as a wife and as a mother, I can say I truly and without a doubt am forever grateful. For those who gave up their warm houses, clean clothes, three meals a day… Those who said goodbye to their parents, their siblings, their wives and children. Who suffered and fought and gave up everything to make sure that their children.. and their grandchildren could live in a better world. I can’t even imagine having to say goodbye to my husband, not knowing if I would ever see him again. Knowing that my children could grow up without their father. I think we all sometimes get so busy in life we fail to see how lucky we are. We live in a great country. We didn’t have to endure those horrible times. I hope we can all remember to be thankful for those who sacrificed their lives back then, and who continue to do so today. Where would we be without those courageous hearts?
And now, some photos for this family..

And their beautiful mom..

I think most of you will agree… that November crept up WAY too fast. I feel like I just get used to seeing the leaves turn orange.. and then the next day the leaves are gone, and it’s time for Christmas music! Luckily.. I LOVE Christmas! Especially this year.. my daughter will be two years old, and will be VERY excited. Last year I spent Christmas day in the hospital, so I missed that one. This year, I am doubling up on the vitamins and staying away from anything germy! I can’t wait to start traditions for our family that will carry out for years in our kids lives. What are some of your Christmas traditions?! I love comments on the blog! Please feel free to leave some fun Christmas traditions!
But before we move onto Christmas too fast… Here are a few photos from a wedding I did in October that I’m just trying to finish proofing.. Gorgeous day!

As promised.. some more photos from our mini sessions!

Thank you so much for having me back to your home! It really is a pleasure to photograph your family! Happy Thanksgiving
Two years ago… I was pregnant for thanksgiving. Last year I had an *almost* one year old… and this year, my baby girl is almost two. Sometimes it really hits me hard, I’ll hear her say a complete sentence, or watch her playing and running, and it saddens me to see her growing at such a heartbreaking speed! Sometimes I feel like she’s still a baby, and other times I feel like she’s all grown up. Sometimes I wish she was still little, but other times my mind wanders to think about what she’ll look like in ten years.
Over the last few days I’ve had a few people tell me how lucky I am, to be able to take so many photos of Claire and have so many memories. And I truthfully feel as though I don’t take ENOUGH photos. I feel like everyday goes by so fast, that quite often I don’t stop long enough to enjoy the little moments. I keep reminding myself to pull out my camera, even on the days where we are just sitting at home and playing! I keep reminding myself that laundry can wait, decorating my house can wait, but time will not wait for me. Time doesn’t give you second chances, you’ve gotta use it wisely.
So let me just say this… grab your cameras! Take as many photos as you can because I can’t think of anything in my house that I would care about having in twenty or thirty years from now except for my photos.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend with your families. I LOVE this time of year. This thanksgiving, it’s just me, my sister and Claire. My parents are in Newfoundland, and my hubby and the rest of my family are in Nova Scotia. BUT, I am still thankful for everything that I have. I’m grateful to have a “second family” who takes us drifters in every year for dinner.. I’m grateful for my health, my loving husband, my beautiful daughter, and my encouraging and selfless family. I hope you’ll all take a few minutes this weekend and take some photos of what your thankful for.
Here is a sneak peek from one of my recent family sessions…

Out for another session today, for a 7 week old baby girl. The sweetest little girl! I only have a few moments right now because my own daughter (now 22 months) is needing some attention. So here are just a couple for this family, and their precious gift from God.

What a wonderful big sister she has…

I can hardly believe that it is already October… I feel like these days and months are going by so fast I barely have time to process them. Yesterday I went out to photograph a wedding.. and even though it was a little chilly, it was a BEAUTIFUL fall day!
They are leaving on their honeymoon tomorrow, so here are a couple photos for them before they leave..
Anita, you looked STUNNING!

Have a great honeymoon!
